Chi-Abu-Otu: This thing Called Destiny (A true Story)

I have seen something in this life. Afu go m ife n'uwa a. In 2020 when I was still writing with Opera News, I linked up with one of their South African writers. The guy or the man began writing with them almost the same time I signed up. Read our food stories here.

He was so polite and well mannered that I didn't find it hard to assist him. It was the same 'no job and hunger' that made both of us became Opera News writer. But the time I knew him, I was already having issues with Opera editors. I have started nursing the ambition to create and build my own news platform.

So, I wasn't hiding my wemedia ID again. (wemedia ID is the name you bear in Opera as a writer). Writers do not disclose their wemedia names to other writers because of the uncontrolled plagiarism which reigns supreme in Opera then. A writer will just wait for you to publish an article, he will copy you to the letter and paste. Opera will approve the same news and at the end of the day, you will earn nothing if your God is not awake, you will be accused of the person who copied and the article will be rejected.

That is not what I want to share here. It's about this South African Writer. After telling me how he was paid peanut because he had nothing to write about, I showed him my wemedia and asked him to select the topics I have written and develop them, especially the ones that had massive reads.

The first topic I gave to him was on "CORN COBS". How to make millions selling corn cobs (yabu, isisi oka atagoro ata). He developed it. He is a great a writer. In fact, he is as good as I am. He showed me and I gave him a thumb up. HE PUBLISHED IT!
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! 24 hours later, he danced back to my inbox and began to thank me. "B
oss, thanks, thanks immensely. I have 25k reads for the first times. Thanks bro."

Yes. They call me bro, even till today, they think I am a man.
GENTLEMEN AND LADIES!!

He danced back to my inbox again at the month end, more excited this time. he told me his CORN COBS Article won the best content of the month. He was awarded either $30 for the article.
------------------ NOTE:
I was the first to write about corn cobs business on that hub.
It was my original idea.
My article was read by more than 100k readers while his was 68k readers.
Mine had more word counts than his but his second hand piece got recognized.

MORALE OF THE STORY.....
There are so many lessons we can draw from this story. But, look, I don't care about any morale of this my story. All I know is this: that thing pained me that period. E really pain me. Read here How to Set Your Kitchen to look great
