You may not need to relocate to a new apartment or location before you set your kitchen. Not everyone like myself has the opportunity of moving to new locations. The public and government servants go on transfer and have need to start setting their kitchens in their new locations.

Some others may not go on transfer, they have new apartment and when they move in there is need to set the kitchen. You can also give your kitchen a new setting to celebrate Christmas and new year eve.

So, what is a kitchen? A kitchen is a room or section of a space in a home or business that is used for cooking and food preparation. A modern middle-class home kitchen often has a stove, a sink with hot and cold running water, a refrigerator, and modular worktops and kitchen cupboards. A microwave oven, dishwasher, and other electric appliances are used in many homes.

A kitchen's primary responsibilities are to store, prepare, and cook food (and to complete related tasks such as dishwashing). The space or room can also be used for eating (or short meals like breakfast), entertaining, and washing. Kitchen design and construction is a major business all over the world. "How should I organize my kitchen after moving?" Every home is unique, and every family uses their kitchen in a unique manner, but there are certain principles I've learned from 20+ moves and my experience as a professional organizer that will help you set up your kitchen so that it works well for your family.

When I move into a new house, I always start with the kitchen. My objective is to be able to eat breakfast in my own house the next morning. I want to be able to utilize actual plates, cutlery, and glasses in my house on the second day. I may not cook much for a few days, but we can have cereal and sandwiches and feel "at home" right immediately.

I've set up 16 kitchens personally and helped numerous customers and friends reorganize their kitchens, so I know what works. When clients ask me, "What's the best way to arrange your kitchen?" I tell them that it's much simpler if I can see the space and "things" you have, but there are fundamental rules that apply to any kitchen layout. To arrange your kitchen layout, use the Setting Up Your New Kitchen Checklist.

I'm frequently asked how to effectively set up a kitchen in a new home or how to improve an existing kitchen arrangement.

3 stages in Kitchen Setting:

  • First phase: Arrow overlays on a kitchen cabinet adjacent to the refrigerator.

1. I begin by putting glasses in the cupboard closest to the refrigerator. Because you'll most likely grab a glass from the cabinet and a drink from the fridge, it makes sense to keep the glasses next to the fridge. If you have small children, keep their cups in a lower cupboard near the fridge so they can fetch their own. The same method applies to coffee cup placement: keep them near your coffee machine, as well as the coffee, filters, creamer, and sugar.

2. I keep my plates and bowls in a cupboard between the dishwasher and the kitchen table. If that isn't an option, consider whether cabinet is better suited to your dishes: one near the dish washer or one near the table. Again, adopt the same method of storing small children's plates and bowls in a lower cabinet.

This dish location saves you time when pulling the dishes out to dine since the cabinet is closer to the table or when putting them away because it is closer to the dish washer. If I have an option, I like to place the dishes closer to the table so that when the kids help me set the table for a dinner, they are not in the way of my work in the main section of the kitchen.

3. The silverware will be arranged next. Typically, one drawer is large enough to contain the silverware tray. If you have more than one large silverware-type drawer, choose the one closest to your dining table or dishwasher/sink. Again, I try to choose one near the table to reduce the amount of time the kids are in my way as I cook supper and they set the table.

Those first three are the "biggies" of the first tier. I've made it easier for my family to dine in our new house by first locating the cups, plates, and cutlery. If that's all I get done on the first day, that's OK since we're ready for meals. Having these initial three categories in the kitchen helps me identify where the second layer of products will go.

  • Stages in Kitchen Setting - Second Phase:

I look in a drawer near the stove for pot holders, hot pads, and trivets. The only time I'll need a hot pad is when I have a hot pot on the stove. We have a cook top and a separate wall oven in my present home. They are eight feet apart. I've placed hot pads in two drawers: one near the cooktop and one near the oven.

I stored pots and pans in a cupboard next to the stove. Near the stove, there are normally one or two cupboards large enough to house pots and pans. Put the lids in the same cabinet as the pots and pans.

Near the stove, there is normally one tall, thin cabinet where you may store baking sheets, cooling racks, and cutting boards. If there isn't a cabinet specifically constructed for that purpose, you can usually raise the shelf in a conventional cabinet to fit the cookie sheets. If feasible, store baking sheets, cutting boards, and other similar items vertically since they take up less room and are easier to access by simply sliding out the one you require.

I keep my spices on a two-tiered lazy Susan in a cabinet near where I make meals. In my last three homes, this cabinet was a corner cabinet on the wall next to the stove. The spices are easily accessible for meal preparation but not too near to the heat (having the spices too close to the stove can effect the shelf life of the spice).

I always have dish towels and cloths by the sink. Near the sink, there are frequently curiously little drawers or cabinets. I arranged the towels and cloths there.

My objective is to be able to grab a towel while standing at the sink (generally with wet hands after realizing someone stole the dish towel and didn't replace it). In one place when cupboard space was really restricted, I kept the towels in a basket on the counter near the sink. Third Phase:

Objects from the third phase fill in around the first and second phase items. You might not be able to fit all of your third-tier stuff. You'll need to evaluate your "things" and the available space, and then prioritize.

Appliances have had to be stored in various areas of the house. This isn't ideal, but it was the only option in that scenario. (Plus, I don't use the waffle maker or blender nearly as much as I do cups and plates.) as well as pots and pans.)

Although pantry food products are included in the third phase, I consider where to put them when identifying tier 1 and 2 goods. Yes, if you have a pantry, this is a no-brainer. If you don't have a pantry, seek for a cabinet that can contain cans, jars, and boxes.

To make access easier, you'd prefer these objects to be situated between the shoulder and knee level. Cookies and potato chips are kept on the top shelf (a deterrent that makes it harder to just grab them unthinkingly).

My favorite pantry organization gadgets include:

  • Baskets with complementary hues that are easy to clean

  • Easy-to-clean Lazy Susan with 2 Tiers

  • Can Organizer with 3 Tiers

  • Expandable Can the Riser

  • Stackable Containers that are airtight

  • Locker Baskets Made of Wire

  • Clear Bin with a Handle Large, Simple-to-Clean Organizing Bin

  • Reusable Waterproof Chalkboard Labels

Store lighter-weight products and seasonal things on the highest shelves and in the impossible cabinet above the refrigerator. I hang seasonal serving bowls and plates over the refrigerator because I can tolerate the trouble of opening that ridiculous cupboard once a year.

On a higher shelf, I also placed light weight plastic storage containers, plastic serving bowls, and my plastic colander. If things fall to the ground as I reach for them, it will hurt if it strikes me, but it will not hurt if it hits me.

I placed heavy objects on the lowest shelf. If these objects fall, I want them to be as near to the ground as possible to minimize harm. I also keep rarely used stuff on the uncomfortable lower shelf.

In a drawer, there are water bottles and lunch packs. Ideally, you'd like to organize objects into useable zones, such as bowls, mixers, flour, sugar, cookie cutters, and so on. This has been achievable in around half of my kitchens. When possible, it is still a goal.

I have a pull-out in my present kitchen that is designated as the lunch box zone. We have a lot of lunch box things with three kids and a husband taking lunch every day. Packing 20 lunch boxes a week is a little bit easier now that everything is in one place.

You may easily install a pull-out cabinet drawer in your cabinet. Pull-out Drawer Shelf Combo for Cabinet.

When my kids were little, having a creative space in the kitchen was essential. While I was in the kitchen, they could color or glue. I wanted them to get their hands dirty at the kitchen table.

I hid a mobile drawer unit in a corner when I didn't have the luxury of a designated cabinet for crafts. I once fit a plastic dish tub with coloring books and crayons in a teeny little kitchen.

Setting up your new kitchen is straightforward if you take a logical approach. If you can solve a puzzle (and I'm not a puzzle person), you'll have no trouble unpacking and setting up your kitchen.
